そして、アルゼンチンは、トランプも超える奇人、ミレイ大統領による財政黒字化、市場改革と、23回目の債務不履行を恐れないＩＭＦ融資により、世界を驚かせるかもしれません。

世界には解決すべき多くの問題があります。そのためには科学的な知識が必要でしょう。そして、投資も必要です。
超大国でなければ解決できない。小国には影響力がない、発言する機会もない。グローバリゼーションの下での民主主義の限界、インターネットを介した投資や雇用、市場を介した圧倒的な技術革新の波及、価格競争がもたらす強制力を、世界帝国や世界通貨、世界言語に向けた文化の絶滅、監視社会に導くものが、何か宇宙の法則としてあるとは思いません。それは政治の集団的な性格、権威主義と市民文化との葛藤を示すものではないか。

暴挙と狂信を、アメリカの偉大さと喧伝し、自身の誇りにするドナルド・トランプが、法の支配や議会を無視し、国際秩序や合理的システムの機能を破壊しても気にしない。
それは、彼がアメリカという権力のネットワークで王座を占拠した、と信じているからです。そうではないことを示すためには、アメリカの民主派が発言し、さまざまな違いを超えて行動しなければなりません。
しかし、国際システムについては、トランプに対抗する市民の声を代表するメカニズムはあるのでしょうか。おそらく、市民の声を代表するだけでなく、合意を形成するために必要な、現実のダイナミズムを説明できる理論や概念が必要でしょう。
世界金融危機やチャイナ・ショックをめぐる経済学の反省が、もっと真剣に行われるべきだ、と私は思います。それを軽視した経済学には、ドナルド・トランプの誕生に責任があるのです。

私たちは問われています。
ドナルド・トランプが繰り返し攻撃するような、移民が問題ではない。大学のDEIも問題ではない。しかし、移民に対する不安を高めないように、移民がその社会に積極的に参加し、統合できる仕組みを示すことがなければ、政治は行き詰まります。マイノリティーの権利を擁護し、包括的な社会を目指す理想も、伝統的な価値観や差別的なアイデンティティと衝突し、極右の吹聴する「表現の自由」、「信仰の自由」に翻弄されます。
ソーシャルメディアの文化戦争、ハイテク企業の情報操作や大国間のサイバー戦争、国境を超える犯罪ネットワークに、対抗できる市民社会の認知能力を高める政治、市民のための支援が欠かせません。

問題は少子化ではない。人口減少や、人口流出でもない。問題は、所得格差の是正、投資機会やイノベーションの不足を解決する政策や制度の改革、市場の需要不足、安定した雇用をめぐる有効需要の不足である。それを解決するには、政治が問題を正しく理解し、議論することだと思います。
そして、たとえ現在の知識の水準が変わらないとしても、世界の不平等や貧しい人々に、優れた教育や就労の可能性を拓き、機会に与えることは可能だと思います。
日本政府はドナルド・トランプに何を提示するのでしょうか？ また、国会はインフレ対策や減税案として何を議論するのでしょうか？ 私は政治家たちの言葉をじっと聴いています。
